WG - Peartree

Welwyn Grange residents, families and staff welcomed Year 1 students fromPeartree Primary School, as they performed songs from their Nativity ‘Lights, camel, Action’.

The positive energy these young guests brought to Welwyn Grange was magical. They sang and danced with such enthusiasm, it was impossible not to feel as excited as them in the run up to Christmas.

It’s really important for us that Welwyn Grange is an active part of our community and a partnership with Peartree can only be a ‘win win’ for our residents and the children alike. Research has shown that Intergenerational work like this helps build social cohesion, community resilience and better health outcomes.

This is just the start of our working relationship with the school, because there are so many possibilities in the future. Welwyn Grange residents will have led such interesting, well-traveled lives, it would be sad if these skills and experiences couldn’t help inspire future generations.

Robert Myers part of the team behind Welwyn Grange said parents and teaching staff should be so proud of these children.
